Today was one of those days when nothing went according to plan. I was supposed to wake up at 7 am but was woken up at 6:45 am by my lovely brother. He wanted to request a gray hat similar to his friend’s. I love to hear him speak passionately, but I also dread going into the day without those few minutes of sleep.

I dragged my feet leaving the house but made it on time for my sister to drop me off at the vet. It was supposed to be a quick drop-off, but it took over 20 minutes for her to be seen and then an additional 30 minutes to see her. This created a domino effect of misfits. My sister had to take Uber to her class since I had to use her car. Courage is just too boogie for the bus life. I was supposed to return home before 8:30 am but didn’t leave the vet’s office until 9:15 am.

I had to change my plans on the spot. I wanted to avoid driving to my dermatology appointment, but my morning hiccup created a dilemma: either I deal with downtown parking or miss my appointment. I hate dealing with one-way streets; it is the main reason I avoid driving. I managed not to go the wrong way on a one-way and made it to my appointment on time. I felt like everything was falling back into place, but then I remembered I had rescheduled my therapy appointment for noon, which would have worked smoothly with the previous plan of my sister picking her Courage up.

Now I had to pick Courage up since I had her car, and Courage shouldn’t try the bus life loopy. I headed to the vet, believing it would be a quick pick-up since they called me and said she was ready. But I was shocked that ‘Courage was ready for pick up’ implemented a 20-minute wait in the office. Courage knows when she can get away with things. When we got home, she hopped on the couch, which she knew she wasn’t supposed to be on. There was no way I would scold her in her state, and I had to go out anyway.

This morning felt like three mornings, but I got everything done without being late for anything. I was riding on the high of being a good dog mom, but I fell off when my brother pointed out a white cast from my new sunscreen.
