“Diary Entry: 8/03/24 – sisters“
Having a sister is not for the weak of the heart. It is my most complicated relationship. How can we have a heated argument about ketchup packets and then eat ice cream while trying to piece together childhood memories, which somehow led us to fight about our favorite Korean drama.
I only have one sister, and though I asked my mom to make sure my baby brother was a baby sister, I’m glad I only have one. If I had ever been tagged teamed by the dexterity of my sister’s will, times by two, I would have popped a blood vessel by the age of thirteen.
Maya Angelou once said something along the lines of people remember how you made them feel rather than what you said or did, which is entirely true. I remember every time my sister pissed me off, though I don’t always remember how she did it; luckily, I don’t know how to hold a grudge when it comes to my sister. By the time we finish fighting and finalizing the rules of our truce, love is the only feeling that stays.
